4th Impact talks Dubai gig, who's the bossiest and who has more fans ahead of their December 15 concert in the emirate

  DUBAI – Ahead of their Dubai concert in December, 4th Impact talked about life after X Factor UK, the challenges of being a sister act, fans and fame. The group, composed of the Cercado sisters, shot to global stardom after they competed in X Factor UK 2015 where they were widely favoured to win. They eventually finished fifth. The sisters—Almira, 27, Irene, 25, Mylene, 23, and Celina, 20—have been in the music industry since 2001 and their group has been through several name changes before eventually settling for 4th Impact. “4th Impact is our most memorable group name because it launched our global career,” Mylene told ExpatMedia.Net. The girls will be at Al Nasr Leisureland on December 15 for their second Dubai gig this year, and promised fans “a 4th Impact as they have never seen before”. Here are excerpts of their interview with ExpatMedia.Net: What have you been up to lately, girls? Irene: We toured the UK and Europe this year. We have been invited to perform in different British events and also performed for Filipino communities. When we were in the Philippines, we did concerts, corporate shows and tours. What did you discover about yourself in the X Factor experience? Celina: We have discovered that singing is not only through having power belts, high notes and a strong voice, but above all the determination, passion and discipline… that if you want something you will work hard for it no matter what. That hard work pays off in the end. What projects do you have lined up? Mylene: Aside from making our own music, we will celebrate our 10th year as a group in one of the biggest concert staged in the Philippines called “4th Impact Invas10n”, with a world tour under the same name in 2017. How do you get along as a group, considering you are sisters? Almira: Being a family, we help each other in every way. We celebrate toegether and as a group it is our strength as sisters because we complement each other and work as one. We don’t think it is hard for us because it’s our advantage being a family. We treat each other with equality and we make sure everyone will contribute for the best. How do you deal with sister issues? Mylene: We have a lot of understanding; patiently talking to the whole family. And of course, prayers. What was your most memorable performance this year? Celina: It would be the X Factor UK tour because we got to see and perform in all the cities in the UK and some parts of Europe while representing Philippine talent in famous world arenas. How do you practice a song? Irene: First, we learn the melody of the song. Then we assign the parts to each member. Then Mylene will teach the harmonies and adlibs. Then we will practice until we perfect the song. Who does the choreography and voice arrangement? Almira: The one who is in charge of the choregraphy is Irene. Mylene is the one who arranges our songs. What is next for 4th Impact in the years to come? Irene: In God’s will, we will be having a world tour and international hit songs and millions of dreamers throughout the world.   4 FOR 4TH IMPACT Who is the bossiest sister? Almira: Everyone is boss in our group because of our individual contributions on peformances, but during rehearsals Mylene is the boss because when she teaches us notes for our harmonies, we have to listen and be focused. Who is the most talented and why? Celina: We think everyone of us is talented because we’re sisters and we’re unique. Is there a song you can’t perform as a group? Irene: None. I think we can sing any song and learn it as a group. Who has the most male fans? Mylene: Celina, because she’s the prettiest!
