820 abandoned cars impounded in UAE

  DUBAI – A total of 820 cars abandoned in Ras Al Khaimah have been impounded since May, according to Ras Al Khaimah Police. Police had combed roads, districts, workshop and garages throughout the emirate to remove unattended vehicles. Brigadier Dr Mohamed Saeed Al Humaidi, director-general of central operations, said the reported vehicles “distort the image of the emirate”. He said that the owners were given a warning notice to remove their vehicles within 10 days. If they fail to do so, then their vehicle will be impounded, Al Humaidi said. He said the impounded vehicles may only be recovered after the owner pays the fine. ICA/Expat Media
