9 missing trekkers rescued after 13-hour search in UAE valley

  DUBAI – Nine trekkers who were reported missing in a deep valley in Ras Al Khaimah have been found and rescued on Tuesday (December 15), according to Ras Al Khaimah Police. Police said the Arab and Asian trekkers lost their way in the Wadi Naqb valley on Monday. Brigadier Mohammed Al Humaidi, Director General of the Central Operations Department, said Ras Al Khaimah Police searched the terrain on foot for 13 hours to find the group. During the search and rescue operation, rescuers sought the help of local residents who knew the terrain. “The operations started on Monday and continued until the early hours of Tuesday because of the valley’s steep terrain,” Al Humaid said.
