A.R. Rahman coming to Expo 2020

Bollywood and Hollywood music composer and songwriter, A.R. Rahman posted in his Instagram account that he will be singing his Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam hits at the Jubilee Stage on March 24 (Thursday).

He will be singing along with musicians and singers including Udit Narayan, Vijay Yesudas, Daler Mehendi, and Jonita Gandhi. “We wanted to encourage women from this region … Dubai is opening its arms to different philosophies, arts, music. It’s a sign of liberation and it’s a great statement coming from Reem Al Hashimi ,” said AR Rahman in an interview ahead of the high-profile opening ceremony of Expo 2020 Dubai. AR Rahman is the ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ composer, often dubbed as the Mozart Of Madras, and has been a formidable agent of change in the Indian musical landscape. He also previously revealed that he is teaming up with Expo 2020 Dubai to open The Firdaus Studio, The Firdaus Studio is said to be a permanent fixture at the World Expo’s 4.38km2 site and will be a part of District 2020. The studios will feature The Firdaus, meaning: Paradise in Arabic, a Women’s Orchestra that will be creatively led by Rahman. JMS/Expat Media
