Dh51,000 fine for jumping red light, car impoundment

Abu Dhabi Police warned motorists in the emirate against jumping the red light, saying the penalties include a fine and impoundment of vehicle. According to Abu Dhabi Police, a motorist who jumps the red light would be fined Dh1,000 and will be given 12 traffic black points. The vehicle would also be impounded for 30 days. To get the vehicle released, the motorist will be asked to pay Dh50,000 and the driver's license will be suspended for six months. The car will be impounded until the fine is paid within three months, and if not, the vehicle will be auctioned off. RZSP/Expat Media
