BBM leads Expat Media’s presidential survey in UAE

Former Philippine senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos dominated Expat Media’s presidential survey via Facebook post reactions. The survey gathered responses from Monday (March 28) until Wednesday (March 30), garnering 458 reactions and 36 comments. Each of the top 5 presidential candidates corresponded to a specific Facebook reaction button listed as follows: Isko Moreno: "Like" Leni Robredo: "Love" Ping Lacson: "Haha" Bongbong Marcos: "Care" Manny Pacquiao: "Sad" Marcos received 351 “Care” reactions, followed by Leni Robredo with 91 “Love” reactions, Isko Moreno with 13 “Like” reactions, Ping Lacson with 3 “Haha” responses, and Manny Pacquiao with 2 “Sad” reacts. The comment section flooded with red and green hearts as a symbol of their support for BBM and his Vice Presidential running mate, Sara Duterte. Most of the comments stated “#BBMSARAtandem2022” and “#BBMFORPRESIDENT2022.” Another commenter said, “My vote is to the person who never indulge to any negative campaign... BBM-Sara-Uniteam.” In an exclusive interview with Expat Media, survey respondents explained why they chose BBM as their president. “I think BBM is genuine and more experienced candidate for presidency. He has broader knowledge when it comes to foreign policy and great vision on economic development. He doesn't indulge in negative campaigning unlike the other presidential candidates. A team up with Sarah Duterte was good move. Team work with Sarah Duterte and her good experience as a local chief executive would help and guide BBM in making tough decisions,” a respondent said. Another respondent described BBM as "the only hope of our nation". "He has a strong capacity and capability to continue the legacy of our tatay Digong Duterte. His views and desire to unite our nation are the great key to the success of our future and to be known again to the rest of the world as a great nation! BBM lang ang sakalam! God bless BBM our next president!" the respondent said. A third respondent said: “My answer is simple. I want to see changes to our country especially for the next generation. I can see that BBM has good plans for the country. He wants to help and serve the Philippines. Why not give him a chance? BBM is one of a kind.” According to The Manila Times, the former senator leads the majority of presidential surveys, including the latest Laylo Research poll, where he garnered 61 percent of voter preference among the 3,000 respondents. Marcos is one of the most controversial presidential candidates for the 2022 election after facing several petitions and declining to attend presidential debates.
