Abu Dhabi art wall opens to young artists

ABU DHABI - Children in the UAE are being welcomed to add their art to “The Seed” installation on Jubail Island in Abu Dhabi. Young artists can decorate a collection of 20cm square blocks that will be stacked to produce a colourful wall of art. The installation will form a vibrant centrepiece at the site of 'The Seed'. The artistic brief is simple - to paint their vision for the future of the UAE. A series of interactive experiences for visitors to enjoy are also available on site, including a polaroid wall which features images of visitors in front of the breathtaking cube. There is also a gift shop, and an exhibition that includes never-before-seen sketches of the conceptualizing of the kinetic art sculpture. The kinetic art sculpture has been transformed into an art installation named 'The Seed' for the public to enjoy until January 30. Tickets cost Dh30 for adults and Dh15 for children and teens. Visitors can enjoy a spectacular display of light, art and music amid Jubail Island's majestic mangrove forests. A newly created beach area, which looks out onto the stunning sculpture, safely seats up to 400 people in a relaxed setting. Proceeds from tickets will fund a mangrove conservation programme. The site opens at 5pm each day – every day except Sundays – to allow people to take their seats before sunset. An audio-visual experience is played continuously between 6pm and 8pm, while food and beverage is served from on-site food trucks. To book tickets visit www.uaenationalday.ae. ICA/Expat Media
