Don’t take Covid-19 lightly, says widow of Fifty Shades star Jamie Dornan's dad

  DUBAI – The widow of Jim Dornan, father of Fifty Shades star Jamie Dornan, spoke against the disease that killed the renowned obstetrician in Dubai. The older Dornan died of Covid-19 in the UAE on March 15, less than two years after he moved to Dubai. He was 73. His second wife, Samina, a doctor at King’s College Hospital in Dubai, described Covid-19 as an “awful disease”. Dornan’s condition had deteriorated after he was admitted to a hospital for a routine knee surgery on February 24 and was subsequently diagnosed with Covid-19. He was eventually placed on a ventilator. He later suffered a fatal heart attack. “Do not take this virus lightly. It can still take you,” Samina told The National. She urged the public to be vigilant against the virus, even if they have been vaccinated. Dornan left behind his daughters, Liesa and Jessica, and son Jamie. The actor was reportedly the first person whom Samina called to break the sad news. A small memorial was planned on Thursday. The Dornan family also hopes to hold a commemoration ceremony in Ireland.
