Could Dubai-based Filipino be next Pinoy Big Brother?

  DUBAI – Could a Filipino teen based in the UAE be the next Pinoy Big Brother? Even before he could audition, fans were already rooting for 19-year-old Brian Rudolph Samson. Auditions began on Monday (October 19) for popular reality TV competition Pinoy Big Brother (PBB). The Philippines’ biggest reality show returns for its ninth season as Pinoy Big Brother Connect. On the PBB Facebook page announcement, Samson had commented with his photo and a description of his advocacy as a feeler. "My mission is to represent my OFW community and uplift the life of my family, by being their source of power and determination," he said. His comment has since gotten 963 reactions. “I tried to drop my photo and expect nothing much,” Samson said, adding that he was surprised to wake up on Monday to a “frenzy” of notifications and friend requests on his Facebook page following his comment. “Kuya, pasok ka na po sa aking heart (Brother, you made it to my heart),” a Facebook user commented. Another one complemented Samson for looking fresh at 19. On Monday, Samson told Expatmedia.net he is inspired to send his audition clip next week. “Thank you to every person who have reacted to the photo, which shows a way of support. Hopefully this can be my drive to proceed to audition for PBB,” he said.

Samson, who was raised in the UAE by OFW parents, won his first pageant title at the age of 17. The following year, he won the title Man of the Philippines UAE. As Expatmedia.net reported in July, Samson added another title as possibly the youngest Filipino to launch his own pageant brand, Pageant Universe. Samson said he was inspired to start his own online pageant and modeling events business after winning Mr. Teen Bayanihan in 2018 and Man of the Philippines UAE the following year.
