Dubai eases movement restrictions for elderly, children under 12
DUBAI – Starting on June 18, the elderly and children under the age of 12 will be allowed entry at shopping malls, commercial venues and public places in Dubai, authorities announced on Wednesday (June 17). According to a statement carried by the Dubai Media Office, movement restrictions for people above the age of 60 and people under the age of 12 will be lifted on June 18.The easing of movement restrictions is part of the gradual reopening of economic activities in Dubai. Precautionary measures, including wearing a mask, will still be enforced. Services and activities will also resume, including fitness activities, camping home services and healthcare services to the elderly, home beauty services and elective surgical procedures. Establishments will also reopen, including public libraries, sports and play areas at public parks and beaches, fitness centres, water parks, 3D and 4D cinema hals and swimming poosl. The public is urged to maintain physical distancing of two metres and wear face masks as part of the responsible reopening of businesses in the emirate. Authorities said that inspections will continue to be implemented to ensure that everyone is following precautionary measures against the spread of coronavirus.
