Photography enthusiasts across the UAE have the chance to win up to Dh15,000 after the launch of the Flame Tree Season Photography Competition by Dubai Culture and the Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award (HIPA). The competition celebrates the annual blooming of the flame tree, whose vibrant red and orange blossoms transform landscapes across the UAE during the summer months. Organisers are inviting amateur and professional photographers to capture original images inspired by Flame Tree Season and share them on Instagram for a chance to win cash prizes. Participants must take an original photograph related to Flame Tree Season in the UAE and upload it to their Instagram account. To qualify, entrants must: • Use the hashtag #FlameTreeSeason in their caption • Follow @dubaiculture, @hipaae and @flametreeseason • Mention and tag all three accounts in the post • Submit only one entry per participant The deadline for submissions is July 31. The competition offers three major prizes. First place gets Dh15,000; second place gets Dh10,000, and third place gets Dh5,000. Organisers said the initiative aims to encourage creative expression while showcasing the natural beauty of the UAE through photography. The competition also highlights the cultural and environmental significance of the flame tree, which has become a seasonal visual attraction in many communities across the country.
