Man fined Dh1,500 for sending offensive messages via email

An Asian man has been fined Dh1,500 after sending offensive messages via email to an Arab man. According to the Dubai Public Prosecution, the Asian man sent a message to the Arab man during an argument that reads: "Stop being a jerk and behaving in a foolish manner." The record has shown that while the victim was in the Raqqa area, he received an email with offensive phrases from the defendant, who was his business partner: "You send silly messages via email; stop being a jerk and behaving in a foolish manner," and "Stop being foolish -you have to get some sleep so you can think properly," which was sent two days after the first message. The Dubai Public Prosecution has ordered the defendant to be penalized under the Rumours and Cybercrime Law. The defendant admitted the crime during the trial and was sentenced to a fine of Dh1,500.
