Dubai Police have reminded residents that illegally trading, importing, exporting or manufacturing fireworks in the UAE is a criminal offence punishable by heavy fines and imprisonment. The police force warned that while fireworks may appear harmless, they can quickly become dangerous and threaten lives, property and public safety. Authorities urged the public to comply with UAE law and avoid any involvement in the sale, purchase or handling of unlicensed fireworks. Dubai Police said dealing with unauthorised fireworks poses serious risks, including fire outbreaks, severe injuries and public disturbances. Under UAE federal law, anyone found trading, importing, exporting, manufacturing or transporting fireworks without a valid licence can face imprisonment of at least one year and a fine of no less than Dh100,000, or either of the two penalties. Officials urged residents to report any suspected illegal fireworks activity through official reporting channels. Dubai Police said community cooperation remains essential in helping prevent avoidable accidents and protecting public spaces.
