Filipino boy shocks relatives after ordering motorbike, excavator online

  MANILA – A three-year-old boy in Bohol, Philippines gave his family and relatives the shock of their life after his online orders for a motorbike and excavator arrived in their front yard. Thankfully, they were just toy versions. Nathan Pana ordered a chargeable toy motorbike and toy backhoe using his mother’s mobile phone, said his uncle Marloue Napinas Mahumot. The items, ordered on online store Shopee, amounted to more than P4,000 (Dh307), which is more than a week’s basic salary in the Philippines. ALSO READ: Kris Aquino to give a week’s salary to 100 people Mahumot told Philippine Star that the boy had always wanted to have a toy car and knew how to use the online shopping site since he has frequently seen them ordering items online. He said that when his sister, the boy’s mother, received a notification about the orders, she thought it was just a mistake or a late notification from her previous orders. She was shocked when the expensive toys arrived at their home. The toy motorbike was delivered on December 20 and relatives had to pool their money to pay for the purchase. The second order for a toy excavator arrived on Christmas Eve. Mahumot said they could have declined the orders, but took pity on the delivery man who pleaded for them to keep the items, saying it was a tough job carrying the giant boxes. The Filipino said his family has since banned Nathan from using his mother’s mobile phone following the incident, but that the “sweet boy” never got scolded.
