Flu vaccine price in Dubai capped at Dh100

DUBAI – The maximum price for flu vaccine in Dubai has been set at Dh100, according to the Dubai Health Authority (DHA). According to the DHA, in a circular, private hospitals in the emirate can not charge more than Dh100 for the vaccine. The authority also warned private health facilities to refrain from extra charges related to flu vaccination. “Refrain from charging any additional service-related fees, (including but not limited to: administrative fees, offering faster service, service delivery on site as workplace or home, etc.), especially for patients who visit the health facility directly to take the vaccine with no symptoms or request for any other medical service or further consultation,” according to the DHA circular. The price cap came as authorities in the UAE called for flu vaccination to help differentiate symptoms of Covid-19 and seasonal flu. In Abu Dhabi, health officials are offering free flu vaccinations at government hospitals in a renewed push for mass flu vaccination. SEHA officials said the flu vaccine would be free for residents who visit a government-run hospital. At private clinics and hospitals, the jab is available for Dh25 to Dh50.
