Indian winner of Dh250k thought it was spam

Indian expatriate Nisar Madatheentavida Thazha initially thought he received spam mail informing him that he won Dh250,000 in Emirates Draw MEGA7. "I received a congratulatory email from Emirates Draw, and because I did not recall participating, I thought it was spam. But when my wife told me she had been participating, I logged in to check, and sure enough, I could see a whopping Dh250,000 in my wallet balance," said Thazha. Thazha has lived in the UAE for over 14 years, and runs an event management company with his wife. The 41-year old Indian was delighted that Emirates Draw sent him a congratulatory email because he had no idea that his wife had been participating in the weekly games for more than a year. The pair entered several draws over the years but never won anything until now, according to Thazha, who still finds his win perplexing. The couple, whose company was significantly affected by the pandemic, received the windfall at a crucial juncture. The events sector came to a complete halt as a result of the pandemic, but due to Emirates Draw, Thazha and his wife intend to use their winnings to resume their company's post-pandemic expansion.
