Filipino stars Jerome Ponce and Krissha Viaje visited the Philippine Supermarket in Dubai’s Al Muraqqabat, delighting fans and sharing their appreciation for Filipino products available abroad. The visit on Sunday (November 10) marked the on-screen couple’s second time in Dubai, where they were welcomed by supermarket owner Abu Nader, who personally gave them a tour of the store. Ponce, who starred in several popular Filipino TV dramas, expressed excitement about seeing Filipino goods so far from home, while Viaje indulged in a tall cup of flavored boba tea from the store's food stalls. Ponce opted for a taste of the Philippines with dishes like sisig and kare-kare, which are beloved by Filipino expats. Accompanied by their “Univerkada” co-stars Hyacinth Callado, Gab Lagman, and Jairus Aquino, the group eagerly explored the supermarket’s diverse selection of Filipino products. “If I’ll live in Dubai, I’ll shop here often,” said an enthusiastic Callado, clearly impressed by the store's offerings. During the visit, Nader shared that he sees it as his mission to make Filipino products accessible to the Filipino community in the UAE. "It’s important to me that our kabayans in the UAE feel closer to home," he said. His efforts have made the supermarket a favorite destination for Filipinos in Dubai. In addition to their supermarket visit, the “Univerkada” cast attended the Filipino Academy’s graduation ceremony on Saturday, where they encouraged the students to pursue their dreams with determination.
