Lulu Group boss Yusuff Ali back in UAE after helicopter emergency landing

  DUBAI – UAE-based businessman Yusuff Ali of Lulu Group returned to the UAE on Monday (April 12), a day after his helicopter made an emergency landing in Kerala, India. Bad weather forced the pilot to make an emergency landing in an empty field in Kochi, Kerala. No one was reported hurt in the incident. Efforts were underway on Monday to move the helicopter. The helicopter was carrying Yusuff Ali, his wife, two pilots and three others on a short flight on Sunday before the pilot made a “precautionary landing”. Everyone onboard the chopper was taken to a hospital as a precaution. A Lulu Group spokesperson said that Yusuff Ali was on a short trip from his home in Kochi to visit a relative in the hospital when the incident happened. Following the narrow escape, the Lulu Group chairman and his wife have returned to Abu Dhabi on an Etihad charter flight on Monday morning. “His family members, including all three daughters, had flown home yesterday to bring the parents back here. All of them returned safely,” said V. Nandakumar, head of communications at Lulu Group. Back in Abu Dhabi, the couple were expected to undergo another round of check-up but were “doing fine”.
