Paid verification of Facebook and Instagram at Dh44.04

Meta, the company that owns Facebook and Instagram, announced on Sunday (February 19) that it will launch a monthly subscription at Dh44.04, allowing users to verify their accounts. The subscription includes extra protection against pretentious acts that could mislead or deceive another person. Meta Verified will cost Dh44.04 monthly on the web and Dh55.06 on Apple and Android. "This new feature is about increasing authenticity and security across our services," said Mark Zuckerberg, the owner of Meta. Meta Verified will roll out in Australia and New Zealand later this week. It will let users verify their accounts with a government ID, get extra impersonation protection, and get direct access to customer support. No changes to accounts on Facebook and Instagram that are already verified, given that only users over 18 years old will be allowed to subscribe. The service has yet to be available to businesses.
