35 new Dubai Covid-19 rules when going out - 3 hour mall visits and more
DUBAI – As authorities announced a partial easing of movement restrictions in Dubai ahead of the start of Ramadan in the UAE, here are 35 new rules to avoid the spread of Covid-19:1. No need for move permits from 6am to 10pm
As of April 24, Dubai residents will be allowed to leave their homes without applying for a permit if they go out from 6am to 10pm starting on April 24.2. Disinfection drive from 10pm to 6am
Beginning on April 24, the National Disinfection Programme will be held from 10pm to 6am, which means that during this period, the public may only leave their home in case of an emergency.3. Free movement from 6am to 10pm
From 6am until 10pm, individuals will be able to leave their homes without applying for a permit.4. Facemasks required in public
The public is required to wear a face mask when going outside their home or risk getting fined Dh1,000.5. Back to office for 30% of workforce
Companies can send a maximum of 30 percent of their total workforce to work in the office, but should require the rest of their employees to work from home. Employees must wear a face mask even in the office.6. Malls open from 12pm to 10pm
Shopping malls and souqs will be open for 10 hours daily from 12pm to 10pm. Visitors are required to wear face masks and will be subject to temperature checks.7. No mall entry for children, anyone above 60
Individuals above the age of 60 and children between the age of 3 and 12 will not be allowed to enter malls.8. Maximum of 3 hours in malls
When malls are reopened, visitors may only be allowed to shop for a maximum of three hours. However, malls and souqs will be open 10 hours daily.9. Wear masks in malls
Mall visitors must wear masks at all times. Those who fail to do so will not be allowed to enter the mall.10. Ramadan tents, majlis banned
Ramadan tents and majlises are not allowed within homes and in public places.11. Entertainment centres, cinemas to remain closed
Cinemas and entertainment centres will remain closed to avoid public gatherings.12. Hotels to open with restrictions
Hotels will be allowed to operate, but will not be allowed to open in-house pools, gyms, sauna and massage parlours.13. Cashless purchase at malls encouraged
Malls and outlets are encouraged to use smart and electronic payment methods and avoid the use of cash.14. No shisha and buffet at restaurants and cafes
Serving shisha and buffets at restaurants and cafes is not allowed.15. Single-use cutlery to be served
Restaurants and cafes may only serve customers with single-use cutlery.16. Limited services at salons
Beauty salons will only be allowed to offer hair and nail services, and customers need to make prior appointment.17. Dubai Metro, public bus services to resume on April 26
Public transport services, including Dubai metro services, will resume on April 26, with the Metro operating between 7am and 11pm. Passengers need to wear face masks18. Maximum of two passengers per taxi
Only a maximum of two passengers are allowed in one taxi, and passengers must wear a face mask.19. Water transport, tram services suspended
Water transport, tram, limousine, and car sharing services will continue to be suspended.20. No food distribution allowed

Individuals may undertake exercises like waking, running or cycling for up to two hours every day within their area of residence, and must ensure a two metre distance from other individuals. They must also wear face masks.24. Entertainment, tourist attractions to remain closed
All entertainment and tourist attractions in Dubai, like the popular Dubai Fountain, will remain closed to avoid mass gatherings.25. Entertainment activities banned
There will be no entertainment activities at malls to ensure that social distancing protocol is followed.26. Parking and valet service at malls
Up to 75 percent of mall parking lots will remain closed, while valet parking will be suspended.27. Restaurants and dining outlets
Restaurants and dining outlets can only accept a maximum of 30 percent of its capacity of customers, with tables set 6 feet apart.28. Stores and eateries to hang limit notices
Stores and eateries will be required to hang red notices at the front door to indicate the maximum number of customers allowed inside.29. Limited social gatherings allowed
Limited social gatherings will be allowed during Ramadan, provided they did not exceed 5 people.30. Prayer gatherings with non-family members not allowed
Gathering for prayers with people outside the household would not be allowed.31. No handshakes and hugs
When in groups, social distancing guidelines should be followed and “physical contact such as handshaking, hugging, etc would not be permitted”.32. Elderly must stay at home
The elderly and high-risk people with chronic diseases should stay at home and avoid public places.33. One outdoor activity during Ramadan
Dubai residents may leave their home for only “one outdoor activity” per day during Ramadan. Previously, only trips to the supermarket, pharmacy or hospital were allowed.34. Receiving family members during Ramadan
Dubai residents will be allowed to receive family members during Ramadan but social distancing must be observed.35. Small iftar, suhoor gatherings
