Filipinos in the UAE will be celebrating their 125th Philippine Independence Day this June with two big celebrations in Dubai. The Philippines marks its Independence Day on June 12. Full-day events will be held in two separate days at the Dubai World Trade Center. Entrance to both events is free. Here’s what you need to know:

June 10: Kalayaan 2023

Date: June 10, Saturday Time: 8am to 8pm Venue: Saeed Hall 1, Dubai World Trade Centre Entrance ticket: Free Organiser Emirates Loves Philippines, in partnership with Infinite Communities Events, promises a fun-filled event at Kalayaan 2023, which will feature day-long entertainment, fashion and cultural shows under the theme “Celebrating Talent, Unity & Diversity”. The June 10 event at the Dubai World Trade Centre will also feature an indoor bazaar, games, contests as well as the first Tatay Ko Yan award in recognition of male Filipino residents in the UAE and are role models to their family and community. Richard Gutierrez, Sue Ramirez and Sophia Andres will also fly in for a special performance.

June 18: Philippine Independence Day

Date: June 18, Sunday Time: 8am to 7pm Venue: Sheikh Saeed Hall 1, Dubai World Trade Centre Entrance ticket: Free A Philippine Independence Day celebration will also take place on June 18 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, with a full-day of live talent shows, cultural programs, games and a bazaar. Celebrities Daniel Matsunaga and Daiana Menezes will be flown in from the Philippines to perform for the audience. The event is organised by the Filipino Social Club in cooperation of the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai and Northern Emirates and Community Development Authority.
