Ras Al Khaimah will be ringing in the New Year with a grand show that is set to break two world records, according to the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA). The New Year’s Eve event aims to break the world record for “Longest straight-line drone display” and “longest chain of aquatic floating fireworks”. The showcase will feature more than 1,000 drones and 8 minutes of aquatic fireworks display. It will take place along the 4.5km beachfront from Al Marjan Island to Al Hamra Village. Organisers said spectators can expect a record-breaking show “with novel choreography and groundbreaking techniques that have never been attempted before.” The RAKTDA will run a live video feed on its official pages starting at 8pm on December 31. Ras Al Khaimah has been organizing record-breaking New Year’s eve celebrations for the last five years as part of its goal to attract more than 3 million visitors per year by 2030. ICA/Expat Media
