  Who would have thought that just five minutes away from International City lies a five-star retreat where I can have a relaxing massage? The hidden escape I am talking about is Desert Palm Per Aquum and its signature Lime Spa. A smiling therapist led me to one of six spa suites that had a beautiful view of the polo fields. The view alone was enough to relax me. Next, she very gently gave my feet a warm soak and bath, while giving it light massage strokes. This Intuitive Massage is intuitive indeed, I thought to myself. Just what I needed after I had roamed a nearby mall for some light-hearted bargain hunt. Then it was off to the heated massage bed where the therapist gave me a combination of deep tissue and Swedish massage to ease away the stress that I had accumulated all week. lime spa at desert palm per aquum The strokes were fluid, with just the right medium pressure I requested. The massage lingered on the area just above my shoulder blades–as if the therapist intuitively knew where my pain points were. I felt better with each stroke. The 60-minute expert treatment ended with the therapist using a hot towel to wipe off the excess massage oil from my skin. I don’t like massages where I feel like I’m stepping out of the room glistening in oil. With a light tap on my arm, the therapist told me the massage was over and then led me to a beautiful relax room with a four-poster day bed where I was served hot tea.
