Sale hunting at Outlet Village Dubai for UAE National Day

  DUBAI – With the sale season extended to cover the UAE National Day holidays, your Expatmedia.net bargain hunters drove all the way to Jebel Ali to find out what’s on sale at The Outlet Village. The architectural design of the beautiful outlet mall, which literally feels like Disneyworld for shopaholics, is inspired by the picturesque Italian town of San Gimignano in Tuscany. Watch our latest visit: The Outlet Village is home to dozens of fashion brands at outlet prices. During our visit on Sunday (November 29), staff at Michael Kors said the beauty with buying at outlet stores is getting prices at considerably lower rate than at the regular stores. Obviously, you won’t be getting the latest in season, but if the huge price cut is more important to you, then outlet stores are your best friends. Also, we recommend that you start your visit while there is still daylight so you can capture those Instagrammable shots inside and outside of the beautiful mall before you go full blast on your bargain hunt. Food and beverage outlets are limited here (we just saw Starbucks, Cafe Nero, Godiva and two other restaurants), so you might want to take that into consideration when you plan your visit. Since we already carted away a lot of items during our last mall visit, we only picked what we could not absolutely let go at The Outlet Village. This meant a beautiful Coach signature gallery tote bag on sale for Dh665 after a further 30 percent discount. The outlet price was Dh1,900. After hunting for this exact type of bag, finding it at that price was like hitting the jackpot! Over at Cole Haan, we found beautifully crafted men’s leather shoes and loafers for Dh150 and Dh190. Their signboard says they also have shoes on sale for Dh50 but those were already sold out, a staffer said. We also checked out Galeries Lafayette, which has a plethora of high-end brands on sale at up to 90% off with additional 30% discount. Ted Baker London and Guess are both offering up to 80 percent discount on all items, while Sacoor is offering up to 75 percent discount on outlet prices. At Fred Perry, we liked the Buy 2 Take 1 offer on all items that were already discounted at up to 90 percent off. Their immaculately white canvas sneakers were on sale for only Dh159. If you love Lacoste, you’ll love their Dh499 offer for any two polo shirts. They also have shoes for only Dh286. Gap is offering up to 40 percent discount on all items, while Banana Republic has additional 30 percent discount on outlet prices. There’s a Buy 1 Get 1 offer at Adidas and some handbags at Kate Spade, which is also offering between 40 percent to 70 percent discount on all items. Hugo Boss is offering up to 70 percent discount on outlet prices, while Ralph Lauren has slashed down rates by up to 60 percent. Our last stop was Under Armour, which is offering a 70 percent discount plus 25 percent additional discount on all items. We wanted to buy more backpacks that we featured a few days ago but those were already sold out! Ah, well. Better luck next time.
