Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), explored opportunities for deeper cooperation in innovation, technology and entrepreneurship during a series of high-level meetings and institutional visits in Sweden on Thursday (June 11). Leading a UAE delegation that included ministers and senior government officials, Sheikha Latifa discussed ways to strengthen partnerships, exchange expertise and support knowledge transfer across key sectors that are shaping the future economy. Joining the delegation were Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation; Maryam Al Hammadi, Minister of State and Secretary-General of the UAE Cabinet; and Hessa Buhumaid, Director-General of the Community Development Authority in Dubai. During the visit, Sheikha Latifa met Swedish businessman Marcus Wallenberg, one of Europe’s most influential business leaders with leadership roles across several major corporations. The meeting examined global economic trends, innovation-driven growth and investment opportunities, while highlighting the role of the private sector in supporting sustainable development and economic competitiveness. Discussions also focused on attracting top talent, expanding strategic investments and identifying opportunities in future-focused industries.

Nobel Prize Museum and KTH Innovation

As part of the programme, Sheikha Latifa visited the Nobel Prize Museum in Stockholm, where she was briefed on efforts to preserve and showcase the achievements of Nobel Prize laureates. The visit highlighted the importance of scientific research, innovation and creativity in driving societal progress and economic development. Sheikha Latifa also toured KTH Innovation, the innovation and entrepreneurship arm of the KTH Royal Institute of Technology. Officials presented the centre’s innovation model, which helps researchers, students and entrepreneurs transform ideas and academic research into startups and commercially viable projects that generate social and economic impact.

Visit to AI company Lovable

Sheikha Latifa and the delegation also visited Lovable, a rapidly growing Swedish technology company that uses artificial intelligence to help users create applications and websites through simple text prompts. During the visit, the delegation reviewed the company’s latest technologies and learned how AI is being used to accelerate software development, improve efficiency and support innovation. Company representatives also outlined their vision for expanding AI capabilities to empower entrepreneurs, innovators and businesses while contributing to the growth of the digital economy. ICA/Expat Media
