  DUBAI – How many things have the new Philippine administration done eight days into office? A Filipino teacher based in Laos answered just that in a recent Facebook post that went viral on social media. Faith Ruth Villanueva’s post on “20 things Duterte administration did in 8 days” has gotten 552 shares on Facebook as of this writing. Speaking to ExpatMedia.Net, Villanueva admitted that she did not expect the surge of popularity of her post on the early accomplishments of the new Philippine government under President Rodrigo Duterte. The widely circulated post lists 20 key events, and has gotten mostly positive reactions from people, with many of them praising Villanueva for her efforts. I just thought of compiling and collating all accomplishments done by the new administration. After I was finished, even I couldn't believe how much the progress was,” she said. “I'm honestly amazed by the positive response of the public,” Villanueva said, adding that she is planning to compile another list of accomplishments or achievements of the Duterte administration. Villanueva admitted that recent events in the Philippines have sparked her renewed enthusiasm in the government. “That is why even in our Filipino community in Laos, I am also active. It’s my first time to be this enthusiastic,” she said. She said that some of the items in the government action list are plans that “may or may not be implemented immediately. But definitely, nobody can deny that there is an obvious change in governance now”. “I'm just overwhelmed by the fact that there is mutual cooperation among government agencies and departments, and even local government units to make sure that they deliver genuine public service to the people.
