UAE expat breaks record in Dubai with world’s largest pop-up greeting card

  DUBAI – A Dubai resident who holds the most number of Guinness World Records in the UAE has added another record to his name with the World’s Largest Pop-up Greeting Card. Ramkumar Sarangapani said his record-breaking card is dedicated to Dubai’s ruler on the 15th anniversary of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s Accession Day. “I had been working on this for the last six months and was waiting for the most opportune time to break this record to make it very special for the nation,” he said. This is Sarangapani’s 19th world record. The world’s largest pop-up greeting card is 100 times bigger than regular cards and features a collage of Sheikh Mohammed’s paintings. Sarangapani connected with artist Akbar Saheb, who is popular for his royal paintings, and also agreed to design the record-breaking card himself. The card broke the previous record of 6.729 square meters set by Hong Kong. At 4 meters long and 2.05 meters wide, the card’s outer cover is the winning bid of Expo 2020 painting. The inside of the card and pop-up is a collage of various paintings of Sheikh Mohammed. The card will be on display from January 4 to 18 at Numisbing Art Gallery in Deira. Entrance is free.
