Free health services for residents, citizens across nation

To mark Humanitarian Day in the country, UAE residents and citizens will receive free health services in a new initiative called “Zayed, the Benevolent," which aims to provide free services and awareness to needy groups in a humanitarian gesture. The caravan started in Abu Dhabi yesterday (April 10) and will travel to all seven emirates. The initiative is participated by specialized health volunteers and UAE doctors. It is also in coordination with the Emirates Program for young humanitarian leaders and the Emirates Volunteers Platform. In addition, Zayed Humanitarian Day is commemorated on the 19th of Ramadan every year. It represents the noble and well-established human values left behind by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan AL Nahyan. According to Dr. Adel Al Shamri, CEO of the Zayed Giving Initiative, President of Emirates Giving, and of Emirates Doctors, the initiative aims to attract young people and enable them to provide the best health and educational service using mobile clinics and field hospitals under a voluntary framework. Al Shamri added that these conveyors come as a continuation of the Zayed Giving Initiative, which was launched in 2000. He emphasized that the act of giving in the UAE is not just an attribute but a consistent and continuous approach that has become a priority across levels under the guidance of “wise leadership”. Meanwhile, Dr. Noura Al Kindi, one of the young Emirati humanitarian leaders, said that the caravans would present hundreds of distinguished volunteer activities and other comprehensive health awareness programs which will contribute to supporting and promoting voluntary and community values. She added that the convoy would visit various residential neighborhoods across the country, along with centers for the elderly and people of determination, labor camps, sports and commercial gatherings, and government institutions. The "Zayed, the Benevolent" caravans focus on strengthening the role of social responsibility and consolidating the concept of good in all segments of society.
