Superyachts sail to Dubai Harbour for boat show
The Dubai International Boat Show opened its doors to 800 exhibitors on Wednesday (March 1), with prominent international superyachts debuting their new boats. At least 50 international and regional launches are anticipated during the five-day event from March 1 to 5. They are designed to enjoy life at sea while satisfying the yearning to map uncharted territory. The yacht was constructed by the Dutch company Heesen. The superyacht Atina can accommodate up to 12 guests and has space for ten crew members, including the captain. Atina, a Heesen 4700 Displacement yacht, has an aluminum superstructure over a steel hull. Her two MTU engines enable her to cruise at 16.0 kn. The boat can travel 16.0 kn at 12.0/4000 n/m nautical miles. The yacht has 21,000 liters of water and 63,000 liters of fuel on board.Azimut
Some of the best-selling models from the Italian shipyard Azimut are displayed at the exhibition. Fly 68 is the main attraction. The new model, a part of Azimut's new family of Low Emission yachts, combines a twin-pod propulsion system with an optimized hull to lower emissions. This also lowers fuel consumption by 20 to 30 percent compared to shaft line boats of the same weight and size as traditional chine hulls.
