Up to Dh100,000 fine for refusing drug test samples without valid reason Refusing to give drug test samples in the UAE without a valid reason could lead to a fine of no less than Dh100,000, according to UAE Public Prosecution. In a recent social media post, the UAE Public Prosecution warned residents of the consequences of refusing to provide samples and specimens for narcotics and psychotropic substances analysis. The penalty is two-year imprisonment and a fine of no less than Dh100,000. According to UAE Public Prosecution, residents “cannot refuse to give drug test samples without proper justification” since it is under a federal decree combating narcotics and psychotropic substances. Only after getting permission from the public prosecution, officials could collect the sample tests for narcotics or psychotropic drugs from the residents. RZSP/ Expat Media
