Up to Dh750,000 fine for forging online documents

The UAE Public Prosecution warned residents on Thursday (March 2) against forging online documents that whoever falsifies online papers shall be fined up to Dh750,000. In a recent social media post, the Public Prosecution reiterated the Federal Law on Combatting Rumors and Cybercrimes, which states the penalties for forging any online document of the Federal or Local Government or federal or local public authorities or organizations. According to the law, the penalty for forging online documents of the government or any authorities is temporary imprisonment and a fine between Dh100,000 to Dh750,000. However, any falsification done by an individual not stated on the grounds above shall still deem the penalty of detention and a fine between Dh100,000 to Dh300,000.
