Children monitored via cameras in 2,000 school buses

The Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) has installed cameras and safety devices in 2,000 school buses, transporting children to private schools. The "Your Children Are Safe" initiative's second phase enables parents to monitor their children via cameras as they commute to and from school. On the buses, tablets are used, and each supervisor is given a tablet device connected to the control and monitoring room. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, the first phase started. Buses were attached with GPS devices, and to enable tracking, they were connected to the control and monitoring room of the SPEA and the operations room of Emirates Transport. The third phase is for parents who have enrolled their children in the system to track the buses using a smart and secure application. 2,000 tablets have been given to the bus supervisors to keep track of student data. A total of 3,250 bus supervisors have also received system usage training. All private schools in UAE have received a circular directing them to begin implementing security and safety equipment according to the standards. The initiative was launched by His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, for the safety of the students in the country. KD/Expat Media
