10 scuba divers placed in decompression chamber for treatment

10 scuba divers who were suffering from decompression sickness were treated by the Dubai police by placing them inside a decompression chamber located at the Dubai Health Centre. The Dubai Police decompression chamber has helped treat amateur divers who fell ill for not decompressing properly from deep ocean diving. "We've treated divers and helped them walk again after being paralyzed," Ismail Hasan Mahmoud , the Director of Oxygenating Treatment at the General Department of Transport and Rescue said. "This is usually due to not following safety procedures after spending many hours underwater or rising quickly from underwate." Major Hamoud said. The Dubai police helped a 35-year-old Emirati patient who suffered from decompression sickness after diving for four consecutive times without considering the depths and timings. The man experienced severe weakness in his feet, lower back pain, severe pain in the left shoulder, severe numbness in the lower limbs, severe abdominal pain and difficulty urinating after the Nitrogen concentration of his tissues escalated. The man recovered witht he help of a few sessions at the decompression chamber. Decompression sickness describes a condition arising fron dissolved gasses conging out of the solution into bubbles inside the body on depressurisation. JMS/Expat Media
