100 percent ownership for investors in UAE approved

  DUBAI – The UAE Cabinet on Sunday approved changes to the foreign ownership system of companies in the UAE, allowing 100 percent ownership of UAE-based enterprises for international investors. The new system was approved at the Cabinet meeting chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai at the Presidential Place in Abu Dhabi on Sunday. Sheikh Mohammed instructed the Ministry of Economy to coordinate with relevant authorities to implement the new decision by the end of this year and to follow up on its developments and submit a detailed report in the third quarter of this year. On Sunday, the UAE Cabinet also approved an integrated visa system allowing investors and their families to get a 10-year residence visa. Sheikh Mohammed said the move is in line with the UAE's policy of "openness and tolerance".
