Authorities in Abu Dhabi have arrested 109 individuals of various nationalities for filming locations and incidents and sharing false information on social media, according to Abu Dhabi Police. Police said the individuals were involved in recording sensitive locations and ongoing incidents, then circulating misleading or unverified content online. These actions were described as likely to provoke public opinion and fuel the spread of rumours within the community. Authorities confirmed that legal and administrative measures have been taken against those involved as part of ongoing efforts to monitor and address misuse of social media platforms. Abu Dhabi Police stressed that such behaviour violates existing laws and regulations, warning that publishing inaccurate or unofficial information can negatively affect public safety and disrupt security operations. The force urged residents to rely only on official and verified sources for updates, and to avoid filming or sharing images, videos or locations related to ongoing incidents. Officials said this is necessary to protect public interest and ensure the effectiveness of security procedures. ICA/Expat Media
