11 Dubai expats to share $1 million jackpot

DUBAI – An Indian expatriate who works in Jebel Ali Freezone will be sharing his $1 million prize at the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire draw with 10 of his friends. Rahul Sangole, 41, bought ticket number 0226 in July, splitting the cost of the Dh1,000 ticket with nine of his Indian friends and one Nepali friend. Sangole said his group has been buying tickets in the last two years, with each group member getting their turn to have their name on the ticket. “To finally receive the call from Dubai Duty Free that we indeed won $1 million is unbelievable,” he said, calling it a “dream come true”. What does the group plan to do with the money they have won? "Definitely this money will help us during this difficult time, to pay off loans and support each other's family back home who only depend on us," Sangole said. The Nagpur native is the 166th Indian national to have won $1 million since the Millennium Millionaire promotion was launched in 1999. ICA/Expat Media
