A tropical storm has hit the Philippines, causing floods and landslides. Tropical Storm Yagi, known locally as Tropical Storm Enteng hit the northern Philippines overnight into Monday. The heavy rainfall from the storm caused widespread flooding and triggered landslides which killed up to 14 people, according to the country's officials. On Monday, a landslide in Antipolo City hit two small huts on a hillside, killing at least three people, including a pregnant woman. Additionally, four villagers drowned in flooded creeks. Four more died in separate landslides in Cebu City and Northern Samar province. In the eastern city of Naga, three people died: two, including a baby girl, from drowning, and one from electrocution. Tropical Storm Yagi hit Casiguran in the northeastern province of Aurora on Monday afternoon and was moving northwest toward the northernmost provinces. The storm is expected to strengthen, possibly becoming a typhoon, before moving towards southern China in the next two days, according to the country's weather bureau, PAGASA. FLE/Expat Media
