The deadline for overseas voter registration for the 2025 Philippine national elections is now 29 days away. If you are a Filipino citizen living in UAE and have not registered yet, here is a guide on how and where to register to exercise your right to vote: According to Republic Act No. 9189, amended by Republic Act No. 10590, all Filipino citizens or dual Filipino-American citizens who are not disqualified by law and will be at least 18 years old by May 12, 2025, are eligible to register as overseas voters and vote for Senators and Party-List Representatives in the upcoming 2025 elections. Overseas registrants or applicants may complete the form and submit it to the Philippine Embassy or Philippine Consulate General to complete the registration process. Moreover, the registration process will allow applicants to update their address and other personal details on their voter record, check their voter registration status, or reactivate their voter record if it has been deactivated due to failure to vote in the past two national elections. The embassy also advised applicants to bring a valid Philippine government-issued ID such as a passport. Registration for overseas voting is open Mondays to Thursdays, 7:30am to 3:30pm, and Fridays, 7:30am to noon. FLE/Expat Media
