WhatsApp, Google ranks second and third places, respectively

  DUBAI – A YouGov brand index ranking has revealed that Emirates is the healthiest brand in the UAE. The Dubai-based carrier achieved a score of 58 points. While Google topped YouGov's global ranking, it only placed third in the UAE with a score of 47.2. WhatsApp placed second to Emirates, garnering 50.4 as score. Rounding up the top five are Carrefour (46.4) and Facebook (44.2). The only other Middle East-based brand to make it to the top 10 in the UAE is Almarai, which placed 10th . The Saudi Arabian food brand had a score of 40.5. YouGov came up with the listing of the world's healthiest brands along with brand tracker BrandIndex based on the opinion of consumers about brands across 30 economies. According to YouGov, the brands "were rated using BrandIndex's Index score which is a measure of overall brand health which takes into account consumers' perceptions of a brand's quality, value, impression, satisfaction, reputation and whether they would recommend the brand to others." Scott Booth, YouGov's head of data products in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, said, "The UAE is among the savviest markets in the world when it comes to mobile and online technology, so it is no surprise to see Google, Facebook, Apple, Samsung and related brands reach the top 10 list for brand health. He also said Emirates, Carrefour and Almarai, which have long dominated heir respective sectors, "have achieved levels of differentiation, ubiquity and consumer perception that set them apart from their direct competition." Meanwhile, the sixth to ninth placers of the healthiest brands in the UAE are: YouTube (44.1), Apple, (43.4), Apple iPhone (42.7) and Samsung (42.1). The list of top UAE index improvers is led by Apple iPhone, which had a score of 37.4 last year or a jump of 5.2 percent to its 2017 score.
