3 arrested for 33kg crystal meth in Dubai, Sharjah

  DUBAI – Three Asian gang members have been arrested for trying to sell crystal methamphetamine in Sharjah and Dubai, according to Dubai Police. The Dubai Police recently released video footage of the raid at an undisclosed location. According to Dubai Police, the raid was done in coordination with Sharjah Police. Police said the Asian suspects were part of an international drug gang. The drugs were smuggled into the UAE and kept in a warehouse in Dubai. They were later taken to Sharjah. Brigadier Eid Thani Hareb, head of the anti-drug unit, said the two suspects were paid Dh22,000 to deliver the drug shipment, while the third man was given Dh3,500 for another delivery. Dubai Police said that from January to June this year, police have seized 712kg of drugs and arrested 1,176 suspects. Among the substances seized was cocaine, heroin, crystal meth, opium, marijuana and banned painkiller. Authorities also shut down 39 websites and web pages used for selling drugs. ICA/Expat Media
