More than 32,000 individuals have been caught violating the UAE’s entry and residence laws in the first half of 2025, according to the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP). The crackdown is part of an ongoing nationwide campaign titled “Towards a Safer Society,” aimed at strengthening law compliance and promoting legal residency and work practices among foreigners in the UAE. "Our inspection campaigns aim to prevent violations and provide all residents and visitors the opportunity to live and work within the law," said Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, Director General of the ICP. Legal action has been taken against violators, with around 70 percent already deported after the completion of necessary procedures. Others remain in detention awaiting transfer to the appropriate legal authorities. The ICP confirmed that inspections are continuing across the country and warned that anyone found sheltering or employing undocumented individuals will face stiff penalties. "We urge all members of society to adhere to the law.
