33kg of gold to be won during DSF   DUBAI -  For 33 days beginning on December 26, three lucky jewellery shoppers can win gold prizes every day during the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF). Organisers said that 33 kilos of gold worth a total of Dh5 million will be given away during Dubai's annual sale season, which runs until January 27. One shopper will take home a 500 gram gold bar, while two shoppers can win 250 gram gold bars each during the daily draws, while one shopper will be picked for the grand prize of one kilogram of gold in the mega raffle. To enter the draw, customers need to buy gold jewellery worth Dh500 at participating outlets to get one raffle couple. Purchases of diamond jewellery, watches or pearl worth Dh500 will entitle a shopper to two raffle coupons. “We are here to announce one more year of the big promotion of 33 kilos of gold which will be offered every single day of the DSF. This year, we hope for an impressive sale season as the gold price is at very affordable levels,” said Tawhid Abdullah, chairman of Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group. The UAE is expected to levy value added tax on gold starting on January 1. However, shoppers can still avail of tax free purchases in the first six days of the DSF opening week.
