4 procedures to follow in case Emirates ID lost abroad

The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) has explained four procedures to be followed in case an expatriate with a valid UAE residency lost or damaged his or her Emirates ID abroad. According to the ICP, here are the steps to follow: First: Report the incident of loss or damage to the competent authority in the country where the incident occurred. Second: Get a report from the competent authority for the incident. The report must contain the basic data of the document subject to the loss or damage so as to be attested from the UAE’s embassy in that country. Third: Request to enter the country through the ICP’s smart services platform. A foreigner must submit all documents required such as, date of arrival, port of entry, flight number or other means of transportation, and data of the new travel document. After this procedure, the foreigner will now be allowed to enter the country. Fourth: Report to the relevant department within 3 working days to complete the necessary procedures. RZSP/Expat Media
