Over 4,300 families in UAE receive up to Dh5,000 assistance

DUBAI – More than 4,300 families in the UAE received up to Dh5,000 in assistance from a charity in Ras Al Khaimah. According to Ras Al Khaimah Charity Association, the cash assistance for needy families was made possible through a Dh12.8 million donation from Dubai Islamic Bank. The charity said that families were given Dh1,500 to Dh5,000 in Zakat, depending on the number of family members. "The funds were delivered to the eligible beneficiaries through a partner exchange house or via direct bank deposits. Some families received the assistance from staff members of the association," said Mohammed Jakkah Al Mansouri, secretary-general of Ras Al Khaimah Charity Association. Al Mansouri said the annual contribution of Dubai Islamic Bank “eases the suffering of thousands of people throughout the year". ICA/Expat Media
