47 injured in Abu Dhabi multi-bus crash, school children among those hurt

  ABU DHABI – Multiple crashes involving three buses in Abu Dhabi left 47 people injured on Thursday (September 29). Most of those hurt were school children. Two people were severely injured but are now in stable condition at the hospital, police said. Abu Dhabi Police said that two school buses and a public shuttle bus were involved in the multiple crash on Khaleej Al Arabi Street right after the Mussaffah Bridge. The buses were transporting children to school when the incident occurred. One of the buses belonged to Al Dhafra Private schools. Police have cordoned off the road as emergency workers worked to help the injured. A photo released by Abu Dhabi Police on Twitter showed that at least one school bus had crashed into a palm tree off the road.
