4 of fatalities killed on the spot while one died in hospital

  DUBAI – Five persons died while four others were seriously injured when their bus collided with a truck on Al Rabat Street. Responding rescuers said four of the 20 laborers on the bus died on the spot while a fifth worker expired at the Rashid Hospital while undergoing treatment. Al Rashidiya Police Station chief Saeed Hamad Bin Sulaiman said the accident happened at 5 a.m. on Sunday, adding that the four wounded workers sustained severe injuries after the bus crashed into the rear of the truck ahead of it. The bus was transporting the laborers to their place of work. Rescuers had to use hydraulic cutters to free the bodies of the dead and the injured who were pinned inside the bus wreckage.
