50 percent discount on traffic fines across UAE

  ABU DHABI - In a landmark move, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, has ordered a 50 percent discount on all traffic and impoundment fines across the UAE. The discount applies to fines incurred from December 2, 2017 or earlier. To avail of the discount, motorists need to pay the fines within three months. The Ministry of Interior has been mandated to coordinate with all traffic and licensing departments across the country to implement the discount in fines across the UAE. Here’s your guide to where and how you can avail of these traffic fine discounts in certain emirates.

ACROSS UAE

Discount: 50 percent Covers: Traffic and impoundment fines incurred on or before December 2, 2017 Condition: Pay the fines within three months

Discount: 50 percent Covers: Traffic fines committed before November 11, 2017 Condition: Pay fines on or before December 31, 2017

DUBAI

Discount: 50 percent Covers: Traffic fines accumulated in 2016 or earlier Condition: Settle fines before December 31, 2017 Payment points: RTA kiosks, Dubai Police website, Emirates Post, Max Box Middle East.
