Six suspects of Asian origin were arrested after Sharjah Police seized a package of illegal drugs from another country. The suspects were caught transporting a package which contained closed envelopes and notebooks of A4 papers laced with 4kg of the drug 'Spice' through a shipping company. The police also seized ready-to-use marijuana that was being stored to sell in the country. A specialized team tracked down the suspects, identified them, and investigated their links to internal or external drug trade networks. What began as a search for one person led authorities to uncover five more individuals involved in the crime. After investigating their homes, authorities found various amounts of marijuana and the hidden drug 'Spice' in one suspect's room. The criminals had used camouflage techniques to conceal the drugs but still uncovered them through a thorough examination by the authorities. According to the authority, 'Spice' is one of the most dangerous and potent substances compared to other narcotics like opioids and heroin. All six suspects have been handed over to the public prosecutor's office for legal action. Colonel Majid Al-Assam said that criminals have developed new methods to introduce drugs and entice young people into addiction. Criminals have been discovered using various methods to sell these drugs, including promoting them on social media platforms and smuggling them through hidden routes. The authorities are actively seeking ways to intercept these drugs at ports. Community members are urged to report dealers, promoters, or any related activities by calling 8004654 or emailing dea@shjpolice.gov.ae. FLE/Expat Media
