Six people were jailed in Dubai for assaulting and robbing a Bitcoin consultant who they blamed for a $30 million cryptocurrency investment that they lost. According to records at the Dubai court, the six-member gang broke into the European man’s villa and assaulted him and his wife. They threatened to kill the couple and then stole $200,000 from them, as well as two mobile phones, three watches and a diamond ring worth Dh390,000. The gang attacked the European man to demand that he pay back the $30 million that they lost after he advised them to invest in cryptocurrency. The men’s initial investment of $30 million rose to $100 million after several days, but they soon lost all their money after the currency lost 100 percent of its value. They blamed the man for the loss of their investment and assaulted him and his wife to try to get back their money.
