Over 800 runners participated in Louvre Abu Dhabi’s scenic morning run
On Saturday morning, over 800 people witnessed the world-class Louvre Abu Dhabi in a new light after they got to run around the iconic landmark instead of going inside to see the artwork. The participants ran distances ranging from 1km to 10km. All runners sported T-shirts featuring artworks from the Louvre's permanent collection: The Runners by French artist Robert Delaunay. Ugo Bertoni, director of external affairs, outreach, and cultural engagement at the Louvre Abu Dhabi, stated that the first edition of the Louvre Abu Dhabi Run, held in conjunction with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, sought to give community members a different perspective on the museum. After the event, each participant got a distinctive medal inspired by the dome and an open-day ticket to the museum.
